Promoting market-based responses to emergencies through WASH market mapping and analysis

The aim of the pre-crisis market mapping and analysis in Haiti is to assist the establishment of a better system to control water treatment, using water treatment products available in the local market, by local government bodies. This will ensure that communities in both urban and rural areas have access to safe water both prior to and after a natural disaster, and especially during cholera outbreaks. The local government bodies includes both DINEPA (Water and Sanitation national regulator) and the Ministry of Health (MSPP) who played a role in the design of the proposed activities described below and will be key actors to strengthen institutional and regulatory capacity to manage quality of drinking water.
