Groupe d’Appui aux Rapatriés et Refugiés (GARR)

To support repatriated families living in camps in the commune of Anse-a-Pitre and affected by Hurricane Matthew, through the provision of humanitarian assistance, outreach and training on cholera, and economic support

Activities

With this grant, we hope to improve the living conditions of the repatriated families living in camps at Anse-a-Pitres by: • Setting up a humanitarian assistance program to provide food, drinking water, clothing, kitchen supplies or toiletries, tarps, and so on to the families affected by Hurricane Matthew; • Strengthening knowledge about cholera so they know how to protect themselves against the disease, and delivering water treatment products to treat the water they are drinking; • Supporting them in obtaining their identity documents; and • Setting up an economic support plan so they can engage in income-generating activities after the immediate recovery.
