Feed the Children

Feed the Children believes that they can create a world where no child goes to bed hungry. Since 1979, Feed the Children has grown into one of the largest U.S.-based charities, collaborating with partners, donors, and communities to make the most significant improvements possible and to hold themselves accountable at every step. Feed the Children is accredited by GuideStar Exchange and the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, maintains a 3-star rating from Charity Navigator, and is also a member of InterAction. By banding together with their network of agencies and challenging convention, Feed the Children works to defeat hunger both in the U.S. and around the world. In fiscal year 2014, Feed the Children and their partners distributed $265 million in food, other necessities, educational supplies, and medicine, impacting close to 9 million individuals in the U.S. Because education is the best way to help children escape poverty, Feed the Children helps children attend and finish school by distributing backpacks to homeless children and offering free books and supplies to educators through their Teacher Stores. Through their Teacher Stores and U.S. programs, Feed the Children provided $5.5 million worth of school supplies, close to 65,000 backpacks, and over 575,000 books to children in fiscal year 2014. Feed the Children’s international programs provide nourishing meals to close to 263,000 children every school day. In fiscal year 2014, the organization distributed over $78 million in food, other necessities, educational supplies, and medicine to children worldwide. In fiscal year 2014, Feed the Children sponsored over 11,500 children, addressing the root causes of poverty through child sponsorship, school sponsorship, and other projects.
