1 project by American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

JDC's focus is to build on our initial emergency work providing services for displaced populations and investing in developing capacity. Our programs include: 1) Providing physical rehabilitation to Haitian amputees and training for local paramedical personnel and bringing occupational therapy care to displaced persons with injuries; 2) Providing opportunities for education through the construction of two new schools and a program to improve school accessibility for students with disabilities; and 3) livelihoods generation and vocational training: continuing vocational training courses for masons, launching a vocational training school for youth in Port-au-Prince, equipping a job-training bakery at a children's home and developing income-generating agriculture in rural communities.
