2 projects by Lutheran World Relief

For over 15 years, LWR has partnered with local organizations in Haiti to support rural development projects. After the 2010 earthquake, LWR immediately responded, supporting the distribution of water, food, and non-food items and shipping material resources. LWR also supported rural communities that were hosting overwhelming numbers of internally displaced persons, and responded to the cholera outbreak as well. For the rehabilitation phase, LWR's long-term work is focused on livelihoods initiatives, such as: increasing food availability; strengthening the cocoa and coffee value chains, ensuring access to water; strengthening organizational capacity of peasant organizations; strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction capacity; working with artisan groups; and distributing material resources.
