Present in Haiti since 2004, ACTED launched its emergency intervention on January 13th 2010, covering all primary needs of the disaster stricken population in our priority areas of intervention in and around Port-au-Prince, Leogane, and Jacmel, and responding to unmet needs in other disaster affected areas. ACTED’s post-earthquake strategy relies on a long-term vision of reconstruction and recovery, supporting displaced populations to return home, covering priority needs, and steady monitoring the situation in affected areas. Within this framework, ACTED is committed to helping reinforce national capacities by establishing key partnerships with the central and local authorities as well as with civil society actors.
